What Your Dog's Sleeping Position Reveals About Its Character

Currently any nonsense is under investigation. Although this specific one, at least, has a point of curiosity that dog owners can verify by attending to their pets.

A recent investigation on man's best friend has found several connections between the personality and attitude that dogs show and their way of sleeping, taking into account the different positions they take at bedtime.

So they have developed a kind of "dog guide" in which we can know a little more about what a dog is like simply by looking at how he lies down to sleep. These are the different classes.

- The snowball is one of the most popular poses for dogs, and cats too! In this position, the dog bends the spine, and the muzzle is close to the tail.

- The pancake position is the most restorative position for sleep and, in most cases, is exactly when REM sleep occurs. So don't be alarmed if your pup starts pawing and splashing out of nowhere. You are only fulfilling your dreams.

-If you notice that your adult dog prefers the Superman position, it could indicate that he is hot. Maybe it's been a sweltering day or your dog has been playing and exercising too much. Your dog may just be exhausted.

- Sometimes you can catch your pet curled up in a tight ball with its tail wrapped around its body and its paws well tucked. This way of sleeping resembles the fetal position in humans.

-If your dog prefers to sleep on his back with his front legs folded across his chest and his hind legs extended, you probably assume he's comfortable.

- By sleeping in the dead cockroach position, your pet may be cooling off. You may have noticed that some areas of dogs' bellies aren't as pretty as the rest of their bodies.

- The sphinx position allows your dog to start running as soon as you call him. Few dogs sleep like this, and this is a transitional state between wakefulness and rest.

-If your dog is a digger, he needs more love and attention than any other animal. When these dogs snuggle up in something cozy, they seek security and comfort.

- If you notice that one part of your pet is resting on a comfortable sofa and the other resides on a hard, unforgiving floor AND your dog is fast asleep at this point, congratulations! You are the owner of a unique dog!
